Trusting God With the Future | Finding Peace in Uncertain Seasons

Sometimes it’s not one huge thing that overwhelms us.
It’s just one more thing… over and over again.
One more unexpected problem.
One more difficult decision.
One more thing to figure out.
Lately, that’s how life has felt for me.
Between healing ribs, a lavender field that went through a difficult winter, frost warnings that keep coming, and business changes that still feel uncertain… it’s been one of those seasons where life simply hasn’t felt easy.
And honestly?
There are moments when I can feel myself wanting answers more than trust.
I want clarity.
I want certainty.
I want to know how everything is going to turn out.
Instead, God keeps gently bringing me back to this:
One day at a time.
💜
Trusting God When You Cannot See the Whole Season
Recently, while thinking through all of this, I realized how much growing lavender requires trust.
You prepare the field.
You prune the plants.
You cover them when frost comes.
You do what you can.
However, at the end of the day, you cannot control the weather.
You cannot force growth.
And you cannot see the whole season at once.
That part feels especially difficult for me right now because I care deeply about the beauty of the field. After such a hard winter, many plants were damaged, and some were completely lost. The rows do not look the way I hoped they would this spring.
Still, even in the middle of that disappointment, tiny signs of new growth are beginning to appear.
And maybe faith sometimes looks a lot like that.
Not having the entire picture… but continuing to tend what is right in front of you anyway.
One faithful step at a time.

Scripture for Uncertain Seasons
One of the verses I keep returning to is from Book of Proverbs 3:5-6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding;
in all your ways know him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
I love that this verse does not tell us to understand everything.
Instead, it invites us to trust.
That feels important because sometimes we believe peace comes from having answers. Yet often, real peace comes from remembering who is walking with us.
Another verse I have been holding onto is from Gospel of Matthew 6:34:
“Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
There is something so freeing about that reminder.
We do not have to carry tomorrow today.
💜
When Fear Pulls You Into the Future
Fear has a way of pulling our minds into the future.
It wants us to replay worst-case scenarios, carry problems that have not happened yet, and live emotionally exhausted from trying to prepare for everything at once.
However, peace gently brings us back to today.
Back to the present moment.
Back to the reminder that God’s grace will meet us here first.
And then tomorrow… He will meet us there too.

Simple Truths to Carry
If you are walking through an uncertain season right now, maybe these simple reminders will encourage you too:
💜 I do not have to understand everything
💜 I can trust Him one day at a time
Sometimes faith is not dramatic.
Sometimes it simply looks like waking up, taking the next step, and trusting that God will continue to guide you even when you cannot yet see the full path ahead.

Friend, you do not have to figure out the entire future today.
You can simply trust Him with this moment.
One day at a time. 💜
