Christian Rest for the weary….Listen Here

Have you ever felt like your days are just one long cycle of bouncing from one thing to the next?
One responsibility…
one task…
one worry after another…
In this episode of Rooted + Rested, we talk about what it means to feel spiritually weary in a world that celebrates busyness.
So many women carry full lives—caring for their homes, families, work, and the people they love—yet still feel a quiet exhaustion deep in their soul.
If that’s you, you’re not alone. How about some Christian rest for the weary?
The Hidden Weight of Busyness
Somewhere along the way, “busy” became a badge of honor.
But busyness doesn’t equal peace.
And it doesn’t mean our hearts are at rest.
You can be productive… and still be spiritually exhausted.
Jesus’ Invitation to the Weary
In Matthew 11:28–29, Jesus offers a simple but powerful invitation:
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
He doesn’t ask us to come when everything is finished.
He invites us to come in the middle of the mess… in the middle of the overwhelm… in the middle of our weariness.
Standing Firm Without Striving
Looking at the example of Nehemiah, we see a people who were tired, overwhelmed, and facing constant opposition.
Yet they continued the work God called them to do—not in their own strength, but through prayer, faith, and trust in God.
As believers today, we are called to do the same.
To stand firm.
To take up the armor of God.
And to remember that our strength comes from Him.
A Gentle Reminder
Rest is not quitting the work God has given you.
Rest is returning to the One who gives you strength to continue it.
A Simple Rhythm of Rest
Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is pause.
Step outside.
Breathe deeply.
Sit quietly with the Lord.
Even something as simple as a warm cup of lavender and peppermint tea can become a moment of stillness… a reminder to slow down and reconnect with God.

What does it mean to rest in Jesus?
Resting in Jesus means coming to Him in your weariness and trusting Him to renew your strength, even in the middle of a busy life.
