Making Room for What Comes Next: A Rooted & Rested Podcast Update
After 75 consecutive weekly episodes, I’m sharing a Rooted & Rested podcast update. I’ve decided to pause recording while I make room for writing, reflection, and creativity.
Throughout these weeks, I’ve shared what God is teaching me through Scripture, the lavender field, and everyday life. However, the weekly schedule has begun to feel like another deadline to meet.
In this episode, I talk honestly about that change, the fear of being forgotten, and what I’m learning about receiving God’s grace.

Why I’m Pausing Rooted & Rested
At first, I considered moving from weekly episodes to a monthly podcast. But after talking with Bob and considering it more, I’ve decided to pause without setting a return date.
Sharing these lessons has mattered to me. In fact, writing helps me process what the Lord is teaching me. For now, this pause gives me time to continue writing while considering how I might share those reflections.
Receiving God’s Grace in a Season of Change
Romans 3 reminds us that we are justified by faith apart from works of the law. Because of Jesus, our acceptance before God does not depend on what we accomplish.
Yet even when we believe that truth, old habits of trying to prove ourselves can creep into everyday life.
As I consider this change, I’m learning to recognize those pressures and bring them to the Lord. Those 75 weeks are something to appreciate. They don’t have to become a reason to continue the same schedule.
Through it all, His grace holds me while I’m learning to rest in it.
Exploring Lavender Letters
During this pause, I’m exploring an idea called Lavender Letters. It could bring together my writing, faith, lavender, and pressed-flower art through something you could receive in the mail.
However, the idea is still being developed, and there is no launch date to announce. Instead of setting another deadline, I’m giving myself room to explore it thoughtfully.
Meanwhile, Lessons in the Lavender remains at the heart of my writing: noticing what God is teaching me through the field and ordinary life.
Questions for Reflection
As you consider your own season, take a few quiet moments with these questions:
• Is there a commitment you need to prayerfully reconsider?
• When you think about making a change, what fears arise?
• Where might you be trying to prove yourself through what you accomplish?
• How could you ask God for wisdom without needing the whole picture today?
Scripture
Romans 3:21–28 — righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, justification by grace, and the end of boasting in our own works.
