Scripture:
Ephesians 6:15 (CSB)
“And your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.”
In today’s episode of Rooted + Rested, we unpack what Paul meant by “readiness for the gospel of peace” within the armor of God passage.
What We Cover:
- The historical meaning of Roman soldier sandals
- Why “readiness” is about stability, not striving
- How the gospel creates confidence instead of anxiety
- A personal story from the lavender field about bees and rushing
- Romans 12:2 and the renewal of the mind
- Practical ways to slow your pace and stand firm in peace
When I rush through the lavender rows without gently shooing the bees, I sometimes get stung. The bees do not want to sting. They react when I move too quickly. Walking barefoot has taught me something similar. Without protection, I feel every sharp edge and unexpected step.
Spiritual life works much the same way.
Christ has already secured our peace. Because of that finished work, we do not scramble for stability. Instead, we stand firm. Readiness means we trust what He has done and walk from that place of security.
Romans 12:2 (CSB) reminds us:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
As we speak truth, breathe deeply, and move at a surrendered pace, God reshapes how we respond to stress. Over time, peace grows roots.
If you desire a deeper walk with the Lord and long for steady peace in busy seasons, this episode will encourage you.
